core values
God’s love compels us to be fully committed to the following core values:
Evangelistic Outreach
Jesus has commissioned each of His followers to be urgent in
spreading the news that Jesus is the only Way for every person to
receive God’s forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life.
“Go therefore and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit...” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Biblical Truth
We preach and teach the Bible as God’s revealed and unchanging
truth, containing our Creator’s guidance for every aspect of life.
"All Scripture is breathed out by
God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for
training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent,
equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim 3:16-17)
“The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. (Psalm 119:160)
Family
God instituted the
family as a place to experience authentic loving community where family
members are accepted, supported, mentored, and led to follow Jesus.
“And
these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall
teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you
sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down,
and when you rise.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-8)
"Fathers,
do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the
discipline and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)
Home Groups
We are committed to
meeting in small groups for fellowship, honest sharing, unselfish love,
encouragement, prayer, and study of God’s Word.
“And
let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not
neglecting to meet together,... but encouraging one another...”
(Hebrews 10:24-25)
“A
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I
have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people
will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
(John 13:34-35)
Service
We encourage all members to discover, develop, and apply their God-given gifts in serving and building up others.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10-11)
"For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which
God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Authentic Worship
True worship
originates from inner devotion to God and intention to serve and honor
Him consistently in all life situations. As part of our worship, we
gather weekly for praise, instruction, prayer, giving, and celebration
of the Lord’s Supper.
“But
the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such
people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must
worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:23-25)
"I
appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present
your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is
your spiritual worship.” (Romans 12:1)
Prayer
We must pray at all
times, as constant followers of Jesus Christ, seeking His guidance and
acknowledging that we can do nothing apart from Him.
“Pray
without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will
of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-19)
“In
that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you,
whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive,
that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23-24)
Biblical Unity
We strive to maintain unity, firmly based on love and God’s instructions revealed in the Bible.
“...bearing
with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in
the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were
called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith,
one baptism, one God and Father of all.” (Ephesians 4:2-6)
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” (Colossians 3:12-15)
Excellence
We desire to give God
our best in all that we do because that is what He deserves and
desires. Excellence honors God and inspires people.
“And
whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians
3:17)
